January 7, 2025 – Jean Impey presents “An Insider’s Look into the Textile Industry.” Learn why we are now paying up to $14.00 a yard. It’s all about the fabric industry, about the three types of printed fabrics: batiks, flat printed and digital. Jean is a quilt teacher, lecturer and a seasoned textile artist. January 27, 2025- Workshop Scott Flannigan of 4th & Main Designs will be presenting a one-day workshop. Scott says the pattern “Changes in Season II”, is inspired by flying geese which signals a change of seasons to us as they fly south for the winter and north for the summer, much like my voice is signaling another change in this season of my life. The top and bottom rows of this quilt are based on the Choppy Flying Geese that I use in my Logo. Time: 9:00 am – 3:00 pm, lunch is provided. February 4, 2025 – Jane Haworth presents “Living a Creative Life.” In this slideshow, Jane talks about her journey as a quilter, techniques that she uses and her desire to get other quilters to work out of their comfort zone and play with fabric. She loves to encourage everyone to be inspired and leave the lecture eager to “play” with their fabrics and supplies.
Jane is an award winning professional quilter, specializing in custom memory quilts made from T-shirts, neckties and many other types of clothing collected over the years. In addition to quilts, she makes custom functional art items from repurposed materials. She teaches not only at guilds, but Road 2 California and the International show in Houston. Starting with an enlarged photo you will learn about fabric choices, tips to keep this collage simple and stitching techniques. March 4, 2025 – Kristie Naranjo presents “Applique Collage Animals.” Kristie is a quilt instructor and Certified Teacher for “Scrappy Appliqué.” a simple, easy and fun raw edge appliqué method where you collage leftover scrap fabrics to create an appliqué piece. April 1, 2025 – Sue Bouchard presents “Binding – Six Unique Methods.” Sue has been quilting since she was 12 and sewing since she was 4.
